How a Mature Confident Man Handles Difficult Times
The tensions building up around the world over politics, religion, and even relationships between men and women are easy to get sucked into.
I did this video to give you immediate support and perspective for maintaining your solid sense of manhood. It’s actually a “coaching video” custom made for you if you want it.
Sometimes I’ll paraphrase the videos I shoot so you can read it instead.
Not this time. I just let it fly in this video in a stream of consciousness. I speak fast and furiously. It wouldn’t be the same if I typed it out.
While there are many forms of masculinity, I believe the most HEALTHY masculinity is a matter of who you are BEING.
So many caricatures of manhood have been shown in the TV and film world. You may think it’s an “act”. You may think it’s a style or persona. You may think there’s a script.
I believe the foundation of a cool, calm, strong, capable man is based first in his ability to model kindness, compassion and respect.
That’s the first bit of coaching I give in this video when I explain what LEADERSHIP means when you’re a healthy man.
Then I give you the next 3 key traits of a healthy, “real” man.
I hope you enjoy it as much as it did shooting it..
“I don’t need no stinkin’ coach!”
I’ve had an number coaches in my life. Soccer, basketball, lacrosse and baseball were my sports. (note these all involve short sprints…short legs)
I even had a speaking coach and a training coach when I was doing teaching in the corporate world.
The idea of a “Man Coach” or “Relationship Coach” would have made me laugh out loud back then.
If you ever wondered what personal coaching felt like, looked like or sounded like, this video is a good example.
Actually we tend to listen more than we talk.
We listen to you YOU, your story, your challenges and your biggest desires. Then we ask you questions nobody has ever asked. Then we help you see a clear path to getting what you want.
I’m inviting you to a conversation to feel what it’s like when YOU are the center of attention. Your needs and your fears. Your desires.
It’s the deepest, most powerful and most intimate conversation you’ll have all year.
You’ll wonder why you can’t talk like this with your wife. You’ll wonder why you haven’t been this open and emotionally raw with your kids.
Most guys say our deep-dive consultations are more valuable and ACTIONABLE than years of therapy or marriage counseling.
And that feels really good.
And I know you’ll like it too. ;^)
There you go. A shameless invitation to connect with you.
No strings. No expectations. Just brotherhood and service.

“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.”
You don’t have to let a loud, divided world decide what kind of man you’ll be.
You may know how you want to act but still lose your footing when politics, marriage trouble, or fear gets under your skin. We listen to what’s happening in your life, ask the questions nobody else has asked, and help you see your next move clearly. You remain responsible for the man you become.
Talk to a coach →Q: What does healthy masculinity look like during difficult times?
A: Healthy masculinity looks like strength guided by kindness, compassion, and respect. A mature man doesn’t need to become harsh or loud to prove himself. He stays aware of his fear and anger, chooses his response carefully, and treats other people decently without becoming weak, passive, or unsure of what he believes.
Q: How can I stay calm when politics and conflict make me angry?
A: You stay calm by refusing to let every headline, argument, or opinion take command of your nervous system. Step back before reacting and decide what deserves your attention. Calm doesn’t require agreement or silence. It means keeping possession of your judgment instead of letting somebody else’s outrage choose your words and behavior.
Q: Is kindness a sign of weakness in a man?
A: Kindness isn’t weakness when it comes from a man who can speak plainly, make decisions, and remain steady under pressure. Weakness avoids hard truths because it fears rejection. Kindness can tell the truth without humiliation or cruelty. A strong man doesn’t need to make another person feel small to prove that he matters.
Q: What does leadership mean in a marriage?
A: Leadership in a marriage means taking responsibility for how you show up rather than trying to command your wife. You model the respect, honesty, and self-control you want in the relationship. You listen without collapsing, speak without attacking, and make sound choices even when she feels upset or disagrees with you.
Q: Why would a man need a relationship coach?
A: A man may need a relationship coach because his own thinking can become hard to see when fear, anger, or rejection takes over. Coaching gives him a place to speak openly, hear sharper questions, and examine choices he keeps repeating. It isn’t about handing over control. It’s about seeing his situation with clearer eyes.
Q: What happens during a Goodguys2Greatmen coaching conversation?
A: A Goodguys2Greatmen coaching conversation puts your story, fears, needs, and desires at the center. The coach listens closely, asks direct questions, and helps you identify a useful path forward. You don’t receive a canned speech or a script for controlling your wife. You leave with clearer thinking and actions that belong to you.
